The business is founded by James McCurrach. Our first client is the Royal Baking Powder Agency, with the company acting as a manufacturer’s agent, serving stores across Scotland.
We get our first fleet of cars meaning McCurrach is officially on the move!
Neil first joined McCurrach in 1977, bringing with him a wealth of experience from previous roles in FMCG. In 1993 he took over as CEO and further progressed onto Chairman, and finally Board Member in later years.
Neil worked in the business for 41 years, and led the longest period of sustained growth in McCurrach’s history by expanding into new territories and markets. He grew the business a massive 20 times from a small, regional, family business to a premium field sales and marketing agency.
Neil sadly passed away in May 2018.The McNicol family remain the majority shareholders in the McCurrach business.
With business booming, we expand into England and Wales.
We launch real-time reporting, meaning our clients can gain real insights into their sales activities.
We launch our activation team, helping us to deliver short to medium term projects for our clients.
We launch our Insights department, focusing on research and data to help clients get the most out of their sales projects. In the same year we rolled out tablets for efficient working in the field.
After the success of our UK expansion, we launch McCurrach Ireland.
We launch our Financial Services division and begin working for global finance brands.
Our Technology division launches to coincide with our work for major technology brands.
We win a Healthy Working Lives award.
McCurrach become official partners of SSI.
We bought into Sellex, a specialist International consultancy business.
