HR is the engine of any business. Most of you reading may already know this; you wouldn’t be in your job otherwise! Sometimes these unsung heroes go unrecognised by the wider public. Well, at McCurrach we take great pride in our people and that’s why we’re delighted to share that our HR Business Partner Mary Lavrie has been nominated for the HR Business Partner of the Year at the 2019 HR Network Magazine awards.
Mary has been with McCurrach for seven years, starting out as HR Shared Services manager before moving to HR Business Partner. When it comes to resourcing, she is integral to our team. Mary’s drive to always do right by her colleagues means that she stands out as a person with incredible people focus. As we win new clients, Mary plays a key role in the TUPE process transferring new colleagues from other agencies. She not only helps to bring new people into the business but is instrumental in the redeployment of colleagues when necessary. And if this wasn’t enough, she also serves as the central point of contact for swathes of our sizable workforce, managing teams both in person and remotely when it comes to HR and talent related questions and issues.
Mary is not only a driving force behind many of our internal business change initiatives; she has been fundamental to our new business pitches, bringing her expertise and passion to our presentations and communicating our business culture loudly and proudly to clients and potential clients.
We’re absolutely thrilled that she’s been selected as a finalist for this award because anyone who’s worked for McCurrach will tell you that her attitude, integrity, and professional experience shines through with everything she does.
She has been a great support to HR colleagues and the business as a whole and is never afraid to share her wisdom with others when called upon. We could not think of a better person for this award.
Join us in wishing her congratulations on her nomination. The HR Network (Scotland) Magazine awards take place on November 14th at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow. Each year it attracts over 800 HR professionals and its prestige in the HR field is second to none.
We wish Mary all the best and hope that she takes the award away on the night!
